The Village of Florida Court at 33 South Main St and plays an important role in extending important justice services to the residents of the Village. The Court exercises broad criminal and civil jurisdiction ranging from the arraignment and initial hearings on felony level criminal cases, to the adjudication of both penal law and vehicle traffic crimes, violations and offenses, domestic violence cases and issuance of temporary and continuing orders of protection, civil proceedings, (including small claims), landlord/tenant matters, Village Code violations, environmental conservation cases and and animal cruelty issues, among others.

During the current Covid-19 pandemic, the Village Court maintains a continuing virtual presence and has implemented a slow and deliberate reopening of its in person court operations consistent with guidelines established by the NYS Office of Court Administration. This re-opening process is subject to change in accordance with the progress of the pandemic.
